Mr. Slater utilised our user-friendly self-booking system on our website to schedule a full strip-down boiler service for his Worcester Bosch 30si combination boiler. Our system allows customers to select a convenient time from our diary, ensuring flexibility and ease when booking your annual service. Upon booking, Mr. Slater received a confirmation email and text message. We also sent reminders 24 hours before the appointment and on the morning of the service, ensuring he wouldn’t miss it or could let us know if we needed to reschedule. Additionally, our Gas Safe registered engineer texted an estimated arrival time while en route.

Basic Checks and Gas Safety Inspections

Upon arrival for the Worcester Bosch stripdown boiler service, we commenced with basic checks. This is to ensure the boiler was operating correctly in both hot water and central heating modes. We tested for gas leaks on the pipework and boiler. With the preliminary checks completed, we proceeded to strip down the boiler, removing the fan and other components to access the main heat exchanger.

Thorough Boiler Cleaning

Once inside the main heat exchanger, we found significant debris buildup. Using specialised tools, we meticulously cleaned the heat exchanger, flushing out several litres of water.  The debris collected in the condensate trap, which required emptying three times due to the extent of the blockage.

Installing New Components

After cleaning, we reassembled the boiler, installing new genuine Worcester Bosch spark electrodes and a burner seal to ensure optimal performance. This is a standard part of the Worcester Bosch stripdown service proess.

Flue Gas Analysis

With the boiler reassembled, we conducted a flue gas analysis, testing the boiler at high and low fire settings. This analysis checked the air-to-gas ratio to ensure complete combustion. All readings were within the manufacturer’s specified parameters, negating the need for any gas valve adjustments.

Issuing the Gas Safety Certificate

Upon completion of the boiler service, our gas safe engineer filled out the necessary paperwork and issued a gas safety certificate, verifying that the gas boiler was in safe working order.

Annual Boiler Service Reminder

To continue and ensure ongoing boiler maintenance, we will send Mr. Slater reminders via email and text message next year, prompting him to schedule his annual boiler service.
